Amirah Tajdin is a Kenyan artist and filmmaker. Born and raised in Nairobi, she spent her teen years in Dubai and considers her ongoing romance with wild cities and her mixed lineage as the strongest influences in her films. She has helmed films and commercial campaigns for clients such as Cadillac, Bloomingdale’s, Virgin Mobile, Pepsi, and The Louvre Abu Dhabi. Her film Sisterhood: Action for Girls Who Code was a Tribeca X Award finalist. Her short film Marea di Tierra competed at Sundance, Cannes Director’s Fortnight, and over twenty other festivals globally.

She is a Sundance Institute Fellow, selected for both the Screenwriters Lab and Director’s Lab.
